Margaret Judge

Margaret Judge

Margaret has worked with children for over thirty years and discovered her talent and passion for writing children’s stories while writing one for a grandson in the UK. One story turned into two, and she had written a whole book of short stories before long. Margaret loved entertaining children with her humour and creative expression in her work. And she hopes, through her writing, to encourage them to read and inspire in them, their creative flow. So, it’s also no surprise that Margaret’s favourite authors are the incredibly witty Roald Dahl and Paul Jennings.

As a grandmother and in her work, Margaret says it can take a creative approach to pique a child’s interest and enthusiasm. Thus, she has felt inspired by children just as much as she hopes her stories will now encourage them too. Margaret’s first published work is The Day the Cat Got My Tongue Plus Other Bizarre Tales. This book is a collection of oddly entertaining stories that are sure to bring on the giggles. These wild and peculiar tales include Soopa-Doopa Bubble Gum, Magic Toilet Paper, and of course, The Day the Cat Got My Tongue.

Can you imagine sitting on the toilet to find your toilet paper grants wishes? What would you do if you got sucked inside a bubble gum bubble of your own making? And what if one day the cat did get your tongue? You might not think that old saying to be so silly after all! The Day the Cat Got My Tongue Plus Other Bizarre Tales is a collection of wildly entertaining short stories sure to trigger a fit of giggles. Yet the pages hold some deeper messages about coping with bullies and the significance of the choices we make.

The Day the Cat Got My Tongue is inspired by children and their sometimes-whacky imaginations. One of the stories even features illustrations by the author’s granddaughters. We’ll let you guess which story that is. It’s no secret that laughter boosts positive energy and these stories certainly are full of fun. The Day the Cat Got My Tongue will entertain, baffle and probably even gross you out time and time again!
